IGFR Pinehurst 2011

For the third time in its 48 year history, the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians will
bring its Championship competition to Pinehurst. The 48th World Championship will be held on
three of the acclaimed golf courses of Pinehurst Resort the week of August 21-27, 2011.

The stories of champions and the traditions of championship golf have been created at
Pinehurst since 1898. Golf Digest selected the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area of
North Carolina as one of the top three golfing destinations in the world!

This is a place where legends come to design golf courses that will crown their careers. It’s a
locale steeped in the history of the sport — the place where the first driving range opened for
business. Even mini golf got its start here. No wonder golf aficionados consider the area The
Home of American Golf.
